Darren Jensen  has worked in various regions across the country such as Kent, Edinburgh, London and Bristol. Working in different domains such as, the Social Care sector, Mental Health, and supporting people in the community, working with both Deaf and hearing people. Over the years, Darren has gained knowledge, skills and experience and because of his deafness he is the best person to understand and know what deaf people want, he has been through the struggles and faced barriers deaf people face everyday.

Bartle-Brestin

Jean-Jacques, we say 'JJ ' because it's different for the British 😂 

Jean-Jacques Bartle-Brestin underwent training in 2016 and became an animator. He recently met Darren at Café Morning and saw an opportunity to lend his support to Darren's extensive experience. Recognizing that Darren could from JJ' assistance in organization, given his expertise in computer IT and technical skills.
JJ is Frenchman background allows him to provide unique insights and ideas that enhance Darren's work. JJ eagerly offered his help. Furthermore, being French, JJ brings a touch of French culture to Surdi.

Rubin

Ann Rubin , a retired psychotherapist, a former NHS nurse is a true “people person” with a deep interest in community affairs and a fervent dedication to addressing societal issues, particularly those affecting the deaf community. As someone who has experience of severe hearing loss, she empathically understands the need of the deaf. Her passion for promoting deaf awareness and fostering a strong deaf culture within the community is evident in her active involvement and advocacy.

 Dr. Sophia
Franklin 

Director

Sophia Franklin grew up in Regensburg, Bavaria,(Germany). Where her deafness manifested itself elsewhere. After moving to Munich, Sophia enrolled on courses in English, sociology and politics and became involved in the student union. She also worked closely with the university's disability office to raise awareness of deafness.and implemented positive changes for her fellow deaf students. in the workplace. She speaks and signs fluently in three languages, Sophia is an expert in data protection and information governance. She is also working hard to improve her Italian and has started to learn German sign language.German sign language. Sophia brings a certain ‘German efficiency’ to Surdi,

helping Darren to stay organised.
